First looks – the idea certainly gets mixed reactions huh??
I want to show you guys a wee selection of photos that I absolutely ADORE from Jenny and Nicks wedding…where I witnessed a beautiful example of the emotion that an intimate first look between a couple (who are JUST about to embark on the amazing adventure of marriage together, after months and months of planning!) can bring. If you’ve been following me for a bit you may have picked up how much I love capturing the emotional bits of a wedding day. Sometimes I get a bit blurry eyed behind the camera and this was definitely one of this times.
My favourite thing about a first look is that you lose that added pressure of 100 or so pairs of eyes watching you as you see each other for this first time. It’s just two people in love coming together on their wedding day, and a very subtle/ninja-like photographer capturing it all for you ??
I feel like most couples can react in a more open and honest way in this situation, without the added nerves that so naturally bubble up walking down the aisle. I can relate to how people feel at this moment as I know how nervous I was doing the big walk on my own day!
Other benefits also include…
Full control of lighting situation = happy photographer ?
Fewer nerves for the actual aisle walk later on ?
More time mingling with your guests after the ceremony as you’ve already done most of your creative photos! ?
You still get the thrill of your guests seeing you for the first time as you walk down the aisle in all your bridal glory ?
Food for through right? Will you be considering a first look at your own day??
